Hannah was raised in Yorkshire to a family of builders, experience which shapes her architectural knowledge and skillset. She completed her BArch at the University of Sheffield (UK) and her masters MA in Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (DK). She has since worked for internationally acclaimed drawing studios in London and Copenhagen and spent 2 and a half years working in Tanzania, East Africa. Hannah is a fully accredited Architect in Denmark (MAA) and the UK (ARB).
Research and experimentation underpins Hannah's practice and she co-founded the nonprofit agency Frieruam Kollektive in 2014 to push material innovation and connect underprivileged communities to architecture and construction services. She has contributed research articles to a range of scholarly journals, most recently Nature, Cities & Health and PLoSMED. Hannah is a board member for Tanzanian Women Architects for Humanity (TAWAH) and supports access for women entering the architecture profession through mentoring.
